4–6 mm Natural Sand Filter Media
Overview:
Natural sand in the 4–6 mm size range is widely used as a support media in multi-layered filtration systems. Known for its hardness, chemical stability, and excellent support strength, it plays a vital role in preventing migration of finer media and ensuring uniform water distribution. This gravel-sized filter media is commonly used in pressure filters, rapid sand filters, and multimedia filters in both municipal and industrial setups.
Grain Size: 4–6 mm
Functions effectively as a supporting layer beneath finer filter media like sand or anthracite.Specific Gravity: ~2.6 g/cm³
Provides stability and holds position during high-flow filtration and backwash operations.Effective Size (D10): Typically between 4.1 and 4.8 mm
Assures reliable support and proper flow distribution in the filtration bed.Uniformity Coefficient (UC): ≤ 1.7
Ensures even packing and prevents clogging or channeling within the filter system.Composition: Predominantly silica (SiO₂), ensuring long-lasting durability and chemical resistance.
