2 - 4 mm Filter Sand

25–40 mm Natural Pebbles Filter Media

The 25–40 mm natural pebbles are a robust, large-sized granular filter media specifically engineered for use as the foundational base support layer in deep-bed and multi-layer filtration systems. These well-rounded or semi-rounded, highly durable, silica-based pebbles form the indispensable bottommost stratum of the filter bed. They are crucial for providing unparalleled stability, ensuring efficient drainage, and offering strong mechanical support for the overlying media layers, such as finer gravels, sand, and anthracite. Their inert chemical composition and exceptional hardness make them perfectly suited for demanding applications in high-load, high-flow industrial, municipal, and large-scale water treatment setups.

    • Grain Size: 25–40 mm

      • Optimally sized to function as the coarsest and deepest support layer in large filtration systems.

    • Specific Gravity: ~2.65 g/cm³

      • Provides superior mechanical stability and resistance to displacement under high operational pressures and vigorous backwash cycles.

    • Effective Size (D10): 25 to 35 mm

      • Guarantees maximum hydraulic conductivity, ensuring excellent drainage and preventing clogging at the filter underdrain system.

    • Uniformity Coefficient (UC): ≤ 1.5

      • Ensures exceptional consistency in particle size distribution and promotes even packing throughout the foundation of the filter bed, minimizing channeling.

    • Composition: Primarily naturally sourced silica-rich quartz pebbles; rigorously screened to be low in impurities, iron, clay, and undesirable organic matter.

    • Primary Support Layer in Multi-media Filters:

      • Functions as the deepest, most stable layer, perfectly supporting overlying 12–20 mm or 6–12 mm gravels and subsequent finer media.

    • Large-Scale Industrial Water Treatment Plants:

      • Provides foundational media for gravity and pressure filters handling very high flow volumes and significant suspended solids.

    • Municipal Potable Water Filtration Units:

      • Employed in major rapid gravity filters, high-rate pressure filters, and clarification units for city-wide water purification.

    • Wastewater and Effluent Treatment:

      • Offers robust structural support in filters designed for high turbidity and difficult-to-treat wastewater streams.

    • Large Aquaculture Systems and Reservoir Filtration:

      • Critical for preventing clogging of underdrains and ensuring unimpeded flow of filtered water, supporting healthy aquatic environments.

    • Pre-filtration for Desalination Plants:

      • Used in the initial filtration stages to protect sensitive membrane systems from larger particulates.

Exceptional Structural Stability – Engineered for heavy-duty filtration systems, providing a steadfast base for all media.

Chemically Inert & Non-toxic – Guaranteed safe for direct contact with potable water, process water, and sensitive aquatic systems.

Optimized Drainage Performance – Maximizes flow through the filter bed, effectively preventing compaction, channeling, and hydraulic bottlenecks.

Extreme Durability & Longevity – Possesses high natural resistance to abrasion, acid, alkali, and microbial degradation, ensuring extended service life.

Pre-Washed, Graded & Ready to Use – Minimizes on-site preparation and ensures virtually no initial turbidity or fine particle wash-out during commissioning.

      • Always used as the bottommost or deepest foundation layer in multi-media and deep-bed filtration systems.

      • Recommended bed depth typically ranges from 200–450 mm, varying based on the specific filter design, flow rates, and overall system requirements.

      • Must be carefully layered beneath finer support gravels (e.g., 12–20 mm or 6–12 mm) to establish the critical filtration pyramid structure.

      • Thorough pre-washing of the media is highly recommended on-site before installation to eliminate any residual silt, dust, or fine particles and ensure optimal performance.

    • Packaging: Supplied in durable 50 kg HDPE woven bags for ease of handling or in large 1-ton jumbo bags for bulk project requirements.

    • Form: Provided as meticulously pre-washed, optionally oven-dried, and precisely size-graded natural pebbles, ensuring product consistency.

    • Supply: Readily available in bulk quantities to meet the demands of industrial, municipal, aquaculture, and large-scale water purification projects.

    • Conforms to: IS: 8419 (Indian Standard for Filter Media), AWWA B100 (American Water Works Association Standard for Granular Filter Material), and NSF/ANSI Standard 61 (Drinking Water System Components – Health Effects) where applicable, ensuring suitability for potable water applications.

    • Quality Assurance: Each batch undergoes rigorous quality control, including comprehensive size grading, specific gravity and density testing, and acid solubility analysis, to guarantee consistent performance and adherence to specifications.
